Combine Two Calendars Into One: The Clean Work and Private Setup
A simple setup for combining two calendars into one calendar without exposing private meeting details.
The most common two-calendar problem
You have a work Outlook calendar and a private Google calendar. Your colleagues only see Outlook, while your family and personal appointments live somewhere else.
The result is double booking. A free slot in your work calendar is not really free if another calendar already has an appointment.
The safest rule
Copy private appointments into the work calendar as busy-only blockers. Keep title, location, guests, meeting body, and video links out of the copied event.
When to copy details
If both calendars belong to you and privacy is not a concern, title-only or full-detail copies can make the hub calendar easier to read. For most work and private setups, busy-only is the default worth starting with.
